Exciting Playgroup

This week we had a huge crowd at our Wednesday playgroup. The reason was because a magician came in to entertain the kids.

He also talked about dental health and the importance of taking care of your teeth.

He did a great job. For being such young kids he was really able to keep their attention the entire time.

Olivia loved it and now today she has decided she is going to be a dentist "when she grows up".

Happy St. Patrick's Day / Happy Pat's Birthday

Or should I say "Happy Birthday Pat!" Either way it all falls on the same day. Olivia's Uncle Pat had another birthday on St. Patrick's day and every year it is tradition for him and Grandpa Manning to go gambling. This year Aunt Nancy and Grandma decided to go along.

I had forgotten about the traditional casino day and invited Grandma and Grandpa over for St. Patrick's Day dinner and since they were all together celebrating all day I had Nancy and Pat over for dinner too.

We had all the fixings....corned beef, cabbage, carrots, red potatoes, green cupcakes, mint ice cream, Guinness beer and Irish Whiskey.

For only making corned beef once a year it all turned out really good and we had a good time.

Mother-Daughter Contest

For years everyone has said that Olivia's Grandma Manning and Aunt Lynn have looked so much alike.

So this year I offered to take pictures of them to send into the local "Inspire" magazine for the Mother/Daughter look alike contest.

We did a photo shoot on Sunday and after seeing the pictures we all agreed they actually do have a lot of resemblance. We will have to wait to see how they compete with the other entries this year. The results will be published in the May issue. Maybe they will win makeovers? or at least one of the top prizes. Time will tell.

Just to make the competition fair I won't be submitting a picture of Olivia and myself. We would be sure to win so we will wait for a different year to enter.......

Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em

When you're not at playgroup and have nowhere to go you have to improvise and play with whatever you can find.

Sometimes Gizmo has to get in on the act of entertaining Olivia.

The funny part was that he really seemed to like this. He stayed in that shopping cart for about 5 or 6 trips around the house before jumping out.

He has actually turned out to be a pretty nice pet to have around.

Playgroup fun

Each Wednesday we get to our Bethany playgroup morning and this is a common site. We start the morning off in a small section of the gym playing with toys, doing crafts, painting, etc. Then we clean up to have snack time and then "rug time" where the kids all gather on the carpet area and Mrs. Travis has a story and songs or some kind of special activity going on.

After that the kids get to take off and run in the entire gym for the rest of the session. Olivia has a great time at playgroup and gets along with the kids really well.

This is one of her favorite things to do.......have someone drive her around either on a bike or pulling her in a wagon. All the mom's laugh because everyone notices that she seems to always be chauffeured around by someone!

Last week she actually got on the bike and let someone else ride behind her but that didn't last long because she pedaled sooooo sloooowww. It didn't take long and this little boy decided it would be more fun if he just did the pedaling so they could go faster.
