A Full Hand Old!

Olivia turned 5 years old on June 20th so we tell her she is one whole hand now. Even though we had a big Father's Day party I thought it was time to start having the "kids" party for her also since she has already been to a few herself.

We invited her whole preschool class and a couple extra friends and ended up with a total of eight kids here to play. Their preschool teacher also came by to visit and see the kids all together again.

Olivia was so excited to have her friends over and they played in the sprinklers and water slide, even though it was not all that warm out. I was able to keep them outside for a while but then the thunder took over along with a downpour of rain. So they all had to come shivering into the house, get dried off and change into their dry clothes.

Then we continued with Olivia opening her presents and we put "Tangled" into the DVD player so we could get lunch together. It didn't take long and we started to hear that they were all "soooooo hungry!". So we got the hot dogs, chips, cheese sticks and juice together and sat them all down to eat.

They all did really well eating and after we got through with the cupcakes the sun was back out and it was actually warming up. So, back outside to play stick the tail on the donkey and by the time that was done, some played outside and some continued the movie until all the parents came to pick them up.

We were exhausted but Olivia had a wonderful birthday.

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!

Father's Day 2011

Father's Day has sort of become a tradition for both of our sides to get together at our house because there are also so many birthdays close together. Olivia's birthday is June 20th so we always celebrate that during Father's Day so everyone comes over for a cookout. We also celebrate Steve's birthday, Grandma Manning's birthday, Uncle Bob, Aunt Deb and Uncle Brian. Sorry if I forgot anyone... We had a great time again this year even with the strange weather. Olivia was so excited to have everyone over and party again!

Thanks to everyone for bringing food and the nice birthday presents for Olivia. It's so much fun to get everyone together and we all get along so great.

I took on quite a bit with having this party and then planning a "kids" party for the following morning on Olivia's actual 5th Birth-Day. Check back for pictures from that busy morning with 8 kids running around and more crazy weather.

Sometimes, when there is so much excitement, stimulation and no nap by the end of the day you just need to find Grandpa and get a big hug! Happy Father's day to all the Grandpa's and Dad's !!

Here We Come Kindergarten!

Thursday was Olivia's last day of 4K Preschool. The whole school sang for the graduation/ascension service and the video below is of them practicing for it. They actually sang in church with the entire adult choir and it sounded awesome. The teachers did a great job preparing the kids for this and the kids always sing loud and enthusiastically. By just listening to them you would never know it is a small school as the voices are all very big.

Olivia is proud to have "graduated from Preschool" and is looking forward to attending Kindergarten all day in the fall.
