Only One Week Until SCHOOL!!

I can't believe one week from today I'll be taking Olivia in to her very first day of 4 year old preschool.

Yes, we've been going there every week for playgroup but this time I will leave her there for the morning. It feels like yesterday that we brought home this little 11 month old.

I'm not so sure about myself but I know Olivia is more than ready to go to school and she will do great. We have all the supplies we need and a brand new backpack. Now we just have to get the dolls and stuffed animals out of the backpack and put the school supplies in. She is excited about her classroom, cubby hole, hook for jacket and all the fun things in the classroom. I have to remember to soak this all in now because very soon it will become old and won't be so exciting anymore.

Olivia will be in a classroom of 8 kids.....four boys and four girls. She already knows most of them from playgroup and gets along with everyone, so far.

We'll have to wait and see if the "Angels" on her backpack holds true. Good luck Mrs. Travis!!

Grandma Pitz's 79th Birthday Celebration

It's always a good time when Bob and Cindie host a party.

Sunday was Grandma Pitz's 79 birthday and Bob and Cindie decided to have party for her and get as many Pitz relatives together as possible. It turned out to be a great day and we visited with many of Steve's Aunts, Uncles and cousins that we rarely see.

Although Grandma Pitz was a little hesitant about being in the spotlight for a day I think she really enjoyed herself. She got some really nice gifts that she wasn't expecting and we had a great meal in the afternoon.

There was even a birthday cake (with just one candle) that was delicious. Olivia once again became the social butterfly and had a great time with everyone. She was especially happy to see her cousin Anna come. They ran around outside and played inside for a long time. When these parties occur she wants nothing to do with me unless it is time to eat or potty. But that's fine with me, I'm so glad she is so social and comfortable with everyone. She is growing up and maturing so fast. It wasn't that long ago I was afraid to let her out of my site and had to make sure she didn't wander near the open staircase. Now she runs up and down the steps and all over playing and chatting non-stop with whoever will listen.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA, HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT DAY!!

Anniversary Celebrations

We went out for dinner to celebrate two anniversaries. Pat and Nancy celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on Friday, August 20th and Grandpa and Grandma Manning celebrate their 51st anniversary on Sunday, August 22nd. We had an "adult" night (except for Olivia) out for dinner at the Blew Inn.

Olivia was excited to go to the Chinese restaurant but I wasn't sure why since she never will even try eating Chinese food. Well, she filled up on crackerS with cheese spread and asked for a plate of noodles for dinner. She got what she wanted and ate really well. She also wanted to try using chopsticks and actually did pretty well with them. Kept her busy for a while anyway.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARIES GRANDPA AND GRANDMA AND PAT AND NANCY!!

A Double Birthday Party

Yesterday was a gorgeous day for a party and we celebrated for two of Olivia's cousins. Chad turned 20 years old yesterday and his sister Kaitlyn will turn sweet 16 next week so the birthday celebrations were combined for a fun family get together.

Olivia had a great time with everyone as usual playing, flirting and just plain old showing off.

She was stuck to her beloved Scott for a lot of the time but has also been pretty cozy with Chad and Cory too. She became more attached to them after our camping trip a month ago. She always loves to see her Grandma and Grandpa and aunts and uncles. It was a great party and she was completely exhausted by the time we got home. She gets to sleep in and get caught up today but very soon school will be starting and we will have to have a better system of getting to bed at a regular time.

She even ate her dinner real well because she gets to sit (away from Mom) with the "big kids". She thinks she is just one of the teenagers too.

Happy Birthdays Chad and Kate!!

Water Play Day!

Wednesday is playgroup day at our church/school. This Wednesday we tried a "play outside in the water" day. We started off inside as usual but after snack time we all went out for fun with a swimming pool, slip-n-slide and a sprinkler

The kids had a great time and ran around for about an hour. Mosquitoes were bad but that didn't seem to stop anyone. Olivia had a great time with her friends. I noticed she tries to take charge whenever she can.
At one point I saw her holding her hand up with the other hand on her hip and she was by the little swimming pool with the slide telling everyone "one at a time!" Can't wait to see what she is like in school in a few weeks.

All the kids seemed to have a lot of fun and maybe we can schedule another day like that before the snow is flying.

Thanks to Mrs. Travis for organizing this and doing such a wonderful job with all the kids!!
